They frequently speak at the same time and it creeps members of the Rebellion out. Specifically the members who are from species that don’t produce twins.

Luke is usually the one that sometimes finishes Leia’s thoughts or sentences, even if she literally has no idea what Leia is talking about because once they’re reunited they just click and it’s perfect. Leia mimics Luke physically, in that she falls directly into step beside her and they are a force of nature in ground fights because Leia can and will move like she’s just an extension of her sister.

(Vader is very happy about how close his baby girls are but also very sad because he should be with them, their mother should be with them, and everything is fucked up and awful.)

Identical Twins AU: Luke and Leia having a competition to see which one can wish the other happy birthday first. And then trying to figure out which one is the oldest. Luke gloating when she finds out from Yoda that she's the oldest.

Once upon a time in Hoth, Luke was woken up by her sister jumping into her bunk and pressing her cold toes and face into Luke’s warm skin. Luke shrieked and cussed, trying to push her sister off of her while also keep all her many blankets piled around her, and they both ended up in a pile on the floor.

“Happy birthday, baby sister.” Leia said and flounced off as if she didn’t just let in all the cold air from the hallway and chill Luke’s elbows and knees. Luke was beside herself in rage and also too cold to try and go after her.

Another time, Luke stole into Leia’s rooms, intending to pay her back for last year’s birthday wishes, only to squeak and cover her eyes. Han yelped while Leia laughed like she was dying.

“Have a good birthday orgasm!” Luke managed to get out all in one high-pitched breath and left the room in a rush. That was a lot of Han Solo that she was not prepared to see.

(Leia calls Luke her baby sister for the rest of their lives. No matter how many times that Luke whines that she was born first, Ben confirmed it she were there when his ghost told them that, she still claims the title of eldest. Considering that she is the leader of them both, the one who can command a room just by being in it, the one that becomes a general, Luke gives the title to her.

Elder sisters are always leaders, after all.)

I’d love to say no, since I don’t care for Mara Jade all that much, but also I’m always here for WLW so…Yeah, guess she’ll be making an appearance.

But, because I’m petty as shit, I’m going to say she confuses Luke and Leia for each other a lot in the early times. To be fair to her, she’s hunting Luke so it’s hardly her fault that she confuses the two, but even after she and Luke get together officially there will be times when, if she’s tired or drunk, she’ll mistake the two for a good five minutes before she realizes her mistake. Leia uses this as “proof” that they’re not good for each other, Luke points out that Mara is colorblind so it’s not like she can just look at their eye colors and know who’s who.

Leia doesn’t approve until Mara brings home little Rey, banged up and still so sweet, and she sees the way Luke lights up at the possibility of having a daughter.

It goes down the same way. Leia may be his biological daughter, but she’s not a Skywalker. Luke is the one he wants to find and he knows that the way to get to Luke is through her friends. This is one of the problems I come upon in talking about this AU is the fact that…like….nothing really changes other than the little things like humor and no slapstick romance Will They/Won’t They goes on.

Because even in the movies we know that when Luke gets there Leia wasn’t tortured. She’s in emotional pain because Han was frozen and taken; Han may be in actual pain we never really get a clear answer on if you feel pain in carbonate….But ultimately, Luke sensed that they’d be in pain, in danger, and went to save them - and he was right - they were in pain and in danger. Just, you know, not “endlessly being tortured for the Lulz” kinda thing going on.

So, you know, nothing changes all that much.

I have some vague other things, yes!

Luke is hella Ace (as usual for me) and is about 80% sex repulsed. She likes hugging and kissing and snuggles are her JAM, but everything else is mostly nah. If Han or Wedge wanted to have sex with her, she’d be up for it because they’re her friends and she knows they’d respect her enough to stop if she wanted them to or if they thought she wasn’t into it.
Out of the two of them, Luke would actually be up for trying a twin threesome. Leia won’t. (And she thinks, privately, that this difference in opinion is from the fact that she’s actually had sex before. And having sex, however indirectly, with your twin?? Hell. No.)
Leia is fifty times more protective of Luke in this AU because secretly she thinks of herself as Luke’s older sister, even after they find out that she was actually born second.
Luke never dated Biggs Darklighter but they did fool around a lot. Biggs had a thing for holding Luke’s arms above her head and physically holding her down to the ground and Luke liked it, thought that she liked it because that’s what she wanted from her partners. Turns out she just trusted him to keep all of her together, to help her keep the force inside of her when her mind would spin all directions. Once she learned how to control herself, she didn’t need anyone to help her contain herself.
Leia has had and lost a few partners throughout her life. She never tries to keep anyone because she has other things to concern herself with. The galaxy is fucked up and falling apart in slow motion, she doesn’t have time for a relationship. Then she meets Han Solo and realizes that maybe she just hadn’t meet the right person to keep her attention for longer than a few tumbles.
